La frase più appropriata con cui iniziare è senza dubbio: “Meglio tardi che mai!”

Si perché Domenico Russo classe 1974 (in arte Niko e/o
Dj Domix) fin dalla giovanissima età di 14 anni agognava fortemente l'idea di fare il DJ, una meravigliosa passione che però per alcuni motivi fu costretto ad abbandonare o meglio accantonare per diversi anni. 

 

Fin da ragazzo Niko dimostra di avere una certa predisposizione al mondo dello spettacolo e dell'intrattenimento, infatti fin dai primi anni ‘90 segue la movida locale facendo il P.R. per la EUFORHJA Group, una delle organizzazioni del tempo specializzata in eventi dance nelle discoteche di Messina, Taormina e Giardini Naxos.

 

Nel 2002 inizia alcune collaborazioni come vocalist e presentatore di eventi, che lo portano a diventare il conduttore ufficiale di varie manifestazioni a livello locale e provinciale.
Dal 2009 al 2017 gestisce in qualità di presentatore e responsabile per Messina il noto gioco a quiz dal vivo Dr.Why.

 

Nel 2010, spinto ancora da quel desiderio represso compra finalmente la sua prima consolle da DJ e avvalendosi della sua buona cultura musicale si ritaglia degli spazi di tempo da dedicare unicamente al mixaggio. 
Da allora comincia a farsi conoscere nell’ambiente del clubbing e spinto dalla forte passione e dal suo spirito competitivo riesce a mettersi in gioco stando sempre più alla pari con chi questo mestiere lo praticava già da tempo.

Intanto dal 2013 al 2015 assapora anche la meravigliosa realtà della radio, conducendo su Radio Messina Sud insieme al Dj Giuseppe Trimarchi il programma Mix By Voice.

 

Arriva il 2014 e anche se Dj Domix può ritenersi certamente soddisfatto dei risultati ottenuti sente comunque un senso di incompletezza e dentro la sua testa riecheggia sempre la stessa affermazione.: “Non si è veri DJ se non si sa mettere a tempo due vinili".

In effetti per sentirsi completo gli mancava proprio questa esperienza, e fu grazie al suo amico e maestro Dj Filippo Cesareo che prestandogli dischi e giradischi gli diede la possibilità di allenarsi.

In breve tempo Niko entra in sintonia con quei meravigliosi supporti analogici ottenendo finalmente la conferma a quella sensazione che sentiva da sempre dentro di se,
quella di essere un "Dj Old School”.

In questi anni Dj Domix ha collaborato con varie realtà della movida messinese, come: 
Gold Club,  ¿Por Què No? Club,  Lido Pacha,  Lido Zahir,  Discoteca Ex Pirelli, etc...
Oggi suona principalmente negli eventi privati e collabora con alcune radio locali.

Dj Domix non segue ne le mode, ne le correnti musicali del momento bensì la buona musica, quella con un groove melodico, ricco e corposo.

Adora i dischi in vinile ed il suono analogico, infatti in collaborazione con Filippo Cesareo porta avanti un progetto dal nome BACK TO THE DISCO.

Ama tutta la musica ma predilige la Dance e la House Music Anni 90/2000, la Tech House, la Techno e la Deep House.

Yes, because Domenico Russo born in 1974 (aka Niko / Dj Domix) from the very young age of 14 he strongly craved the idea of ​​being a DJ, a wonderful passion which, however, due to some reasons he was forced to abandon or better set aside for many years.

 

Since he was a boy, Niko proves to have a certain predisposition to the world of show business and entertainment, in fact since the early 90s he has followed the local nightlife doing the P.R. for the EUFORHJA Group, one of the organizations of the time specialized in dance events in the discos of Messina, Taormina and Giardini Naxos.

 

In 2002 he began some collaborations as a vocalist and presenter of events, which led him to become the official conductor of various events at local and provincial level.
From 2009 to 2017 he manages the well-known live quiz game Dr. Why as presenter and manager for Messina.

 

In 2010, still driven by that repressed desire, he finally buys his first DJ console and making use of his good musical culture he carves out some time to devote solely to mixing.
Since then he has begun to make himself known in the clubbing environment and driven by his strong passion and his competitive spirit, he manages to get involved by being more and more equal with those who have been practicing this profession for some time.

Meanwhile, from 2013 to 2015 he also tasted the wonderful reality of radio, conducting the Mix By Voice program on Radio Messina Sud together with DJ Giuseppe Trimarchi.

 

2014 is coming and even if Dj Domix can certainly be satisfied with the results obtained, he still feels a sense of incompleteness and inside his head the same affirmation always echoes: "You are not a real DJ if you don't know how to put two vinyls in time".

In fact, to feel complete he lacked this experience, and it was thanks to his dear friend and DJ maestro Filippo Cesareo who gave him the opportunity to train by lending him records and turntables.

In a short time Niko gets in tune with those wonderful analog supports finally obtaining confirmation of that feeling that he always felt inside himself,
to be an "Old School Dj".

In recent years Dj Domix has collaborated with various realities of the Messina nightlife, such as:
Gold Club, ¿Por Què No? Club, Lido Pacha, Lido Zahir, Discoteca Ex Pirelli, etc...
Today he mainly plays at private events and collaborates with some local radio stations.

​

Dj Domix does not follow the fashions, nor the musical currents of the moment but good music, the one with a melodic, rich and full-bodied groove.

He loves vinyl records and analog sound, in fact in collaboration with Filippo Cesareo he carries out a project called BACK TO THE DISCO.

He loves all music but prefers 90s/2000s Dance and House Music, Tech House, Techno and Deep House.
